Today we’re proud to present a wedding day in Provence : Clemence & Luc who got married in 2018. Their day was unbelievable, as reflected in their smiles.

The Style me Pretty words for this wedding: “Discover the magical kingdom more commonly known as Provence” you can discover their article HERE.

Who better than our bride and groom to talk about their day? Find out what they have to say…

Could you tell us about your love story?

We met in Shanghai through common friends and it was love at first sight. Living so far from home and family, the connection was built very quickly.
After living in several cities in Asia we decided to return to Europe where we got engaged 5 years after we first met.

Why did you choose to get married in Provence?

Lluc grew up in the south of Spain and Clémence near Paris. Our families and friends are spread across South Africa, the UK, France and Spain.
We met in Shanghai and we lived most of our love story in Asia.
We thought we needed to find a neutral location, somewhere halfway between our hometowns. Provence, being an incredibly beautiful region of France, we thought it was the perfect place for us.

Why did you choose to have a wedding planner?

At that time, we were living in Paris and travelling a lot for work so we had limited time to prepare everything. We wanted someone local to the region with contacts in the industry.
Stephanie was willing and able to get to the venue whenever she needed to and she recommended very professional, reliable and qualitative suppliers.

Another reason is that we wanted to be able to relax on the wedding day, and not having to worry about the whole organization.

Why did you choose Wep in Provence and Stephanie to assist you in the preparation of your wedding?

Our venue recommended Stephanie as they had worked with her on previous occasions and mentioned how exceptional she was.

During our first call with Stephanie, we immediately felt she was professional, she knew the venue very well, especially what was possible and not possible to achieve.
We both found her very kind and funny, we had an immediate connection with her.

How was the preparation of your wedding day in Provence?

We were not an easy couple I believe, especially me, the bride!
Some couples seem to have the perfect wedding already pictured in their head, they know exactly what they want and don’t want. We were the exact opposite! And quite bad at making decisions.

On top of that, we did not have as much time as we wanted for wedding planning.

But Stephanie has helped us to find our dream suppliers, she had the answer to any problem and always came up with great ideas.
Stephanie was our guiding light during this year of preparation, she was also a real emotional support as we almost had to cancel the wedding because of an unexpected event.

Without her, the wedding would have never happened!

Could you tell us what were the key moments of the day?

The day itself was a real pleasure and Stephanie made it a relaxed one.
The celebration at the church was the key moment as this is when emo;ons reached a peak. Then, there was the dinner with the speeches of our friends and family and seeing the people we love around us was very special.

Do you have any anecdote / distinct memory?

At the church, while walking down the aisle my veil fell down because it wasn’t properly aSached. My advice to all brides: try your hair with your accessories and the veil a few days before 😊

Do you have any advice for future couples for their wedding day in Provence ?

The first one would be: trust yourself. If you think something is not right, say it, or if you have a special request, ask for it.
This day is unique. There are no second chances.

The second one is to take time to step out of the celebrations and to take a moment for you and your partner. Take 5 minutes and be aware of the present time, look at the decoration, people around you, the sun, the heat, and breathe. Just take a few minutes mins to pause and enjoy because time flies!

And finally, choose a wedding planner that will be more than a business partner. You have to feel a connection from the beginning. You will be working together for more than a year on one of the most important events of your life, so choose someone you appreciate from day one that you could see becoming friendly with.
